Job Description:
The Escape Pod is looking for a Group Account Director to run and grow three pieces of business: Global Golf Brand, CPG Food Brand & new Robotics client. The Group Account Director is a critical client partner role demonstrating leadership, strategic direction, accountability, business acumen and vision for their businesses. The Account Director effectively leverages experience, knowledge, and skills to drive innovative thinking and set challenging team goals and objectives by balancing client, company, and team needs. This position will have day-to-day relationships with senior client leaders, and serve as the key TEP contact for partner agency leads, as well as internal TEP and industry responsibilities. In addition, the role acts as the steward and mentor for the day-to-day team, ensuring strong team unity and ways of working, optimizing talent utilization and growth among all team members.
What You’ll Bring:
- Has demonstrated that they can run ALL aspects of a large, complex account with minimal oversight from agency executive management
- Manage all aspects of the client business providing superior customer service while maximizing business opportunities
- Proven ability to establish and grow a strong relationship with multiple senior client stakeholders through a demonstration of industry knowledge and of the application to business challenges
- Has managed multi-disciplinary team ensuring all team members are delegated work appropriate for their level and experience and that the team remains challenged and engaged
- Minimum 10 years of overall business experience with a majority of experience in marketing role, preferably at an advertising or media agency, or client-side internal team
- Minimum 6 years of managerial experience, overseeing a team of employees
What You’ll Do:
- Represents & fosters company culture as well as the goals & values of executive management
- Champions & understands the clients’ businesses at the highest level
- Represents viewpoints of executive management to motivate & align team with corporate goals
- Participates & owns key agency initiatives that contribute to culture, industry knowledge, and the growth of the company
- Work closely with their direct report(s) to optimize any revenue opportunities within the agency at large
- Inspires, motivates, & mentors employees across the company
- Business/Agency leader – You make decisions like a General Manager, considering the impact of your businesses/decisions on the broader agency
- Always strives for more for themselves, their teams, the client, and the agency, setting expectations and standards to which all are held equally accountable, with firmness, authority, & encouragement
- Responsible for meeting business KPIs and development of business plans
- Steward relationship with outside agency partners (media, PR, etc.)
- Has demonstrated that they can run ALL aspects of a large, complex account (a guidepost is $3MM+ with multiple lines of business and/or broad AOR relationships) or grouping of accounts from strategy development, client leadership, P&L management, staff allocation/development (beyond account management) with minimal oversight from agency executive management
- Masters the art of cross-functional team work (for themselves and their teams) in terms of collaboration,
- efficiency, morale, and work-product delivery
- Takes an active role and demonstrates mastery in truly driving the business (their clients and ours)
- Relationships (a true “trusted advisor”- the one the client wants in the room; the person that maps client organizations to get deeper, more embedded with multiple client levels)
- Business development (identifying and selling in new opportunities, bringing innovation and
- educating clients without there being an obvious problem to solve)
- Driving for excellence/mastery of their team (makes their team better continuously)
